We were appointed to carry out design proposals for two additional residential floors above an existing 5 storey mix use building.  Our feasibility studies included consideration of daylight and sunlight issues, overlooking of neighbouring buildings and, most importantly, developing an appropriate structural strategy alongside the consulting Structural Engineer.

Following rigours design explorations, and a thorough Pre-Application and Planning process our proposal is for a contemporary 2 storey addition, accommodating 10 x new dwellings, using a linear design emphasis was granted at Appeal. The new elongated roof minimises the scale of the existing building by defining its roof profile, completing its overall form and enhancing its presence on the street.

Our design solutions incorporate sustainable design elements, passive sunlight control, and amenity areas which culminating to a complementary scheme adding architectural value to the host building.
