The project undertaken by Vivendi Architects involved the demolition of an existing 2-storey dwelling to construct a new apartment building with 8 self-contained luxury flats on Cockfosters Road. Previous planning applications by others had been refused due to concerns about bulk, massing, and its impact on the street scene. Following a successful planning application, Vivendi Architects commenced detail design, however our involvement was concluded at that stage at the site was sold to a new developer.
Vivendi’s proposal aimed to enhance the area’s character by incorporating design elements that reflect the local architectural style, such as French doors, sash windows, stone and brick bay windows, slate hipped roofs, and stone decorative detailing throughout. The goal was to create a distinct residential character to the site while addressing previous planning concerns and seamlessly integrating the development into the neighbourhood.
